Reaching out for therapy is an empowering step toward the life you are seeking. You might be experiencing anxiety or a difficult transition in your life. There might be a crisis in your life that has left you desperate and unsure of what to do next. Perhaps you find yourself in a season of grief and loss that is overwhelming, or maybe you find yourself somewhere you didn’t think you would ever end up. You might feel stuck in a tough dynamic with a partner or with your family. You might have feelings that seem too much to handle, like anger, guilt, shame, or resentment. You might be feeling that life is pointless and wondering why you are here. Maybe you have reached the point where you are ready for change, to journey inward and process why you are the way you are and how you got here. I would be honored to forge this path forward with you.
Psychotherapy is where the soul meets science in the art of transformation. I believe the power to connect as humans in our experiences of struggle and suffering is sacred and the key to acceptance and growth. Together, we will explore the stories we tell ourselves, addressing your concerns at their root and cultivating meaningful change and purpose in your life. With warmth and candor, I will meet you in a place of empathy and curiosity, offering understanding and challenge to help you identify patterns of thought, feelings, and behavior that no longer serve you. As you begin to see yourself apart from your problem, you can take back control of your life and reclaim your power. Through a direct approach infused with humor, we will emerge with a holistic understanding of mind, body, and spirit, enabling you to live more fully and embrace the possibilities of change and growth with bold intention, taking hold of each choice within your control to reach your goals. With each step in our work, you will be able to reflect and gain awareness as you find new ways of being. I utilize a collaborative, integrative approach that aligns with a strengths-forward model of positive psychology and narrative modality, enhanced by psychodynamic, transpersonal, and person-centered approaches with practical interventions that give you the tools to see change.
My life and clinical experience span across various cultures and backgrounds. I consider being a therapy practitioner part of my calling and purpose in life. It is through my own continuous journey that I understand the transformative power therapy has in unlocking healing and revealing the unseen parts of ourselves. I aim to expand the reach of this power. My healing has included a deeply spiritual path rooted in Judeo-Christian mysticism. Divine love for ourselves and one another is at the core of the work that I do.
I work with those experiencing trauma, grief, loss, transition, couples in conflict or with intimacy concerns, family and relational conflicts, divorce-impacted individuals, couples and families, those struggling with angry tendencies, those impacted by criminality, those with spiritual concerns or experiencing religious trauma, faith deconstruction and reconstruction, identity exploration and formation, and existential crisis. I honor the value of all people and welcome all identities as I strive to be a humble citizen of the world and student of life, recognizing the human experience to be diverse and complex. Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your therapy sessions will cost. Your fee will be set according to a sliding scale, in collaboration with your therapist, prior to your first counseling session. Total costs depend upon the number of sessions you choose to utilize.
If you have private health insurance and we are not in-network with your plan, please be aware that your costs for therapy may be less by using an in-network provider. This will depend upon your plan's deductible amounts and co-payments. In some cases, counseling at Shine a Light is less costly than using private insurance.
If you hope to use "out of network" benefits through your private insurance, please be aware that many plans will not reimburse for services provided by trainees. Please request an Associate level therapists for out-of-network billing.
