I believe that healing is a gradual path of returning to one’s truest self. The suffering of life’s stressful, traumatic, and mental or physical health experiences might nudge us to mask the pain outwardly, explore inwardly, or seek the support of others. I’ve found that cultivating self-compassion and curious attention toward suffering can give way to spaciousness, growth, and peace. Together, we can develop a path back to your truest self.
I am known for my grounded presence, warmth, and directness. How we work together will depend on your unique needs and preferences. Our time may include talk, somatic (body) awareness practices, mindfulness training, parts work, dream and imaginal exploration, ritual, or play. I approach therapy from an Integral (body-mind-spirit) lens, and draw from Gestalt, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and transpersonal modalities.
My calling to therapy emerged from my own healing and spiritual path–I’m a committed Buddhist practitioner with months of silent meditation experience and I’m an ongoing student of the early Buddhist texts through monastic traditions. I am currently completing the Integral Counseling Psychology MA at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). I also hold a MS in Neuroscience from Stanford University, a BA in Psychology and Neuroscience from Oberlin College, 5 years experience in neuroscience research, and 8 years work experience in the tech industry. Given my neuroscience background, I provide trauma-informed care, and can offer psychoeducation and practical techniques for living with trauma.
I welcome adults, couples, youth, and children of all walks of life: all genders, sexualities, neurotypes, cultures, races, and immigration statuses. I have a special interest in working with chronic illness, pain, and disability (visible and invisible). I am committed to social justice, non-pathologizing, and cultural humility–continual learning about the multitude of ways of being in this world. Honoring diversity and countering oppression is crucial for healing for all.
May all beings be well, happy, and free.
