Therapy doesn’t need to be stuffy. I believe in a creative approach to healing, where we can be silly and playful as well as caring and thoughtful. Together, we can create an authentic, empathic space where all feelings, thoughts, and experiences are embraced. I chose to be a therapist because I wanted to be the therapist I look for: someone who knows talking isn’t the only path to healing.
I work through a client-centered, trauma-informed lens, which means your needs and safety are my number one priority. I’ve found “psychological distancing”—where we separate ourselves from our problems—to be a fruitful approach for my clients. I specialize in Expressive Arts Therapy, which means we can incorporate any art form into our work together to create that safe distance, explore unconscious processes, and solve problems creatively. I also use Internal Family Systems to distance, locate the Self, and find compassion for all our parts.
I provide therapy to individuals of all ages and have experience working with individuals with a wide variety of presenting problems and diagnoses. I have a special interest in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, youth, and individuals with PTSD.
