We are all clinical members of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Clinical Director
Tim Hartnett, PhD, LMFT
Tim leads our clinical training and supervision team. He has a 36 year history as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Tim holds an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch Univeristy, and a doctorate in Psychology from California Coast University. He has taught graduate psychology on the faculty of California Institute of Integral Studies, and John F Kennedy University. Tim has developed a unique capacity for distilling the essence of a wide variety of therapeutic orientations, allowing him to apply an individualized approach to each client. Tim specializes in treating depression, anxiety, and anger management. He uses trauma-informed care to to treat PTSD and Dissociation. And he is adept in using Emotionally Focused therapy to help couples with relationship issues.
Lead Clinical Supervisor
Margaret Silver, LCSW
Maggie is a seasoned therapist and clinical supervisor. She earned her masters in Social Work at Columbia University (NYC). She has worked in PHP, IOP and outpatient settings, including Kaiser Permanente, Good Samaritan Hospital, Seneca Family of Agencies, and The Lotus Collaborative. Her clinical expertise includes working with adults; adolescents; survivors of violence, abuse, juvenile justice and foster care systems; people living with disordered eating; perinatal mental health care; and serious mental health issues. Her supervision expertise empowers our clinicians to become competent, thoughtful therapists.

San Francisco Site Director
Tanya Takacs, LMFT
Tanya leads our team of therapists in San Francisco (New Perspectives Center for Counseling). She holds a BA in Sociology from Vassar College (New York) and a Masters in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She has worked with San Francisco Marriage and Couples Center, Hospice by the Bay, and the Marina Counseling Center. She uses a range of therapeutic lenses, including psychodynamic, relational, attachment, and systems theories. She specializes in grief therapy, couples therapy, and the treatment of anxiety and depression. She is a community member of the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California (PINC).
